Fellow Cleaner From Sydney...

Postby Clean My Windows » Sun Dec 06, 2009 12:50 pm

Hi Tony,

I was checking Google to see what resources are out there on how to clean windows and your site came up.
Of course, it was about cleaning car windows, but I was impressed with your info and site setup.

The reason I was Googling was because we are a Window-Cleaner-Sydney and are considering adding free information to our site, like you have done. Are there any tips or tricks you suggest? Do you get a lot of people asking cleaning advice questions that you feel take too much time with no chance of them becoming a customer?

(I don't want to be one of those! - but would appreciate a heads up and wanted to say great ideas with your site...)

Regards,
Paul.

hi paul here is a few more tricks
Window Cleaning Tips, Trick and Hints
•Use a medium size make up brush to paint on Vaseline ™ once a year. This will keep the window from sticking.
•To make the window cleaner mixture look like commercial cleaner, add a few drops of food coloring.
•Using distilled water to mix the window cleaning solution will cut down on the minerals in the mix and prevent water spots from appearing later.
•Use the remaining solution (when mixing buckets at a time for outside spring-cleaning) to clean out the garbage pails. No matter whether you use vinegar, ammonia or other mixture it will work well for the bottom of the garbage can. One note: if you are using ammonia, be sure not to mix in any products with bleach—even outside.
•For water stains on the outside from sprinkler systems, use a toilet bowl cleaner before you clean. Be sure to avoid mixing products with bleach and ammonia and use rubber gloves. Not a good idea if there are delicate plants below the window.

Hi Tony you're a hard worker mate, up all hours!

Yea things are good... we've been writing some new content for our website but it's not quite ready yet (I'm a fusspot!).

Just some FAQs... making sure that our clients can see we are good for transparency by showing them how we do stuff, following in your footsteps.

We've also done a little logo redesign, I have a friend who is into that so we're off and running now, looking a bit sharper.

It's just hard focusing on the website when cleaning windows is keeping us so busy (and hot as well these days!).

Paul.

Hi Tony - love the new sections in the forum, great ideas.
Who doesn't love looking at pics of hot cars.... now I know where you got your profile pic of the Ferrari from!!

We finally got our FAQ and another page up on the website just yesterday... plus a new blue theme... bit 'cleaner': http://www.cleanmywindows.com.au/FAQ/

And we now added a page about Strata Window Cleaning, because as you'd know cleaning isn't just cleaning. There are two things with Strata cleaning that make it so difficult... 1. Access & 2. Neglect - because it's a shared apartment building it's sometimes left too long between cleans.

I guess it's a little the same for you... if oils ain't oils then cars aren't cars, right?
Ever had a total shambles roll in, needing you to pull out all the detailing big guns?
Hey maybe you could show some before and after pics??? That'd be great for your biggest detailing job overhauls...
